Oregon Dunes
National Recreation Area

The Oregon Dunes are located between Reedsport and Coos Bay in the central coast area.

Small lakes abound in the Dunes.

The Dunes are the largest coastal sand dune area in North America.

Motor vehicles such as all terrain vehicles, motorcycles, suv's, and of course, dune buggies, are allowed in specified areas of the Dunes.

All vehicles must be operated within designated open areas and have flags at least eight feet in height.

The open areas of the Dunes extend down the beach near the Spinreel Campground.

The Dunes have numerous types of shorebirds.

The Dunes are a unique area of windswept sand.

Due to the rugged, sandy terrain, persons operating vehicles in the Dunes must extreme caution.
