Northeast Oregon

This shot was taken from Idaho, looking across to Oregon along the Snake River. The Hells Canyon National Recreation area is home to the deepest river gorge in North America, Hells Canyon.

Much of Hells Canyon is inaccessible by road. Jet boat toars are popular in the canyon.

Hells Canyon drops nearly eight thousand feet from the peaks of Northeast Oregon and North Central Idaho down to the Snake River.

Joseph is a lovely city at the base of the Wallowa Mountains. It is home to many artists and attracts tourist with its quaint shops, cafes, and stunning scenery.

Outdoor enthusiasts are right at home in Joseph.

Wallowa Lake is a beautiful lake just outside of Joseph. The Wallowa Lake State Park is at the sound end of the lake, which is nearly five miles long.

The Wallowa Mountains rise abruptly to over 10,000 feet from Wallowa Lake State Park. The State Park provides camping and there are nearby cabins available for accommodations.
